John, I don't know if this is the right place, but hopefully this will get the the main list.
GRUMPY'S on Robert Rd. in Slidell has now change to ethanol in all their gas except premium. The owner said it was too expensive to stay totally ethanol free.
Hope this helps, Ron |

WINK...Exxon on Casueway @ W. Esplanade did not have the required State stickers, but had white printed decals on each pump..."CONTAINS ETHANOL"! That was this past Friday. John Castelluccio, Jr.

John,
Sadly, I think it is just a matter of time before Ethanol Free Fuel (EFF) is a thing of the past. Since the originator of this thread has moved on we need some guidance on how to keep this updated from the Mods. You know what they say. Wish in one hand! S*** in the other.

The sites listed above MAY be valuable, however,I did a spot check and found listings that were incorrect and really out of date. IE Exxon on Causeway Blvd at West Esplanade. While Exxon stations were selling "pure" gas a short time ago, they no longer do so.Look for the sticker on the pump that says "This fuel contains up to 10% ethanol".This sticker is required by law.....HOWEVER,laws can be broken so beware! There is another site that has much info on ethanol including locations of stations that sell ethanol free gas.If you wish I can send you the webb address. It is a local site catering to the sportsman in Louisiana as does this site. Shoot me an E-mail and I will reply back with the address.

| The law may state that fuel stickers have to be on the pumps, but refineries do NOT have to blend 10% ethanol gasoline. Some refineries, due to economics and equipment chose to pay "fees" instead of making ethanol fuel blends. So just because the pump has a sticker saying "Fuel may contain up to 10% ethanol", it doesn't mean there is any ethanol in the fuel. |

Chris V is right. Ethanol free gas stations are becoming a needle in a haystack to find and drifting towards extinction. Given that automobiles are gas stations' primary consumers of fuel and the fact that the ethanol issue doesn't affect automobiles, gas station owners are finding it hard to justify staying ethanol free.
I used to go the Exxon in Mandeville on Florida Ave everytime because they were ethanol free. Not anymore. Now I simply keep buying Stabil everytime I go to Walmart and simply add it to my boat's gas tank.
Like I said before in a debate a long time ago with a pro-oil company person, it is way pass time for marine engine and boat manufacturers to start making their systems and components more tolerant of ethanol's effects.
I wish there was always ethanol free fuel for us boaters but the mass automobile market is driving this.

DREW C...according to Ron Williams in Baton Rouge with the Sticker Complicance Section...stations are tested before the sticker is issued. Most store cashiers do not know if their store is selling fuel without or without ethanol...unless they are there when their supplier tanker arrives and informs them of such. Do you really think that cashiers care!? If the pump has an ethanol sticker and you think IT MAY NOT CONTAIN ETHANOL...you are playing Russian Roulette with your outboard motor(s)!!!

| John C - I have specific knowledge which gas stations in Lake Charles have ethanol right now and which ones don't. This is from inside knowledge of which refinery blends with ethanol and which one doesn't (they choose to pay the excise fee). My point is that the pump can have a sticker, even if the gas contains NO ethanol. |

Seems detrimental to business. We here in the Metro New Orleans areas, are scrambling to find ethanol free stations. A LOT of the Discount Zones do not have stickers BUT ARE DISPENSING fuels WITH ETHANOL!!! Most of the marinas do not have Ethanol fuels BUT have have extremely higher prices as much as $.80-$.90 more per gallon! We may have to pay to play! John Castelluccio, Jr.

Support an Ethanol Free Gas Station Fleur De Lis Car Care Center 247 West Harrison Avenue Corner of Fleur De Lis & W. Harrison Ave. Two Blocks West of West End Blvd.
Noticed an Ethanol Free sign and stopped to check it out. Used my Ethanol tester and sure enough no Ethanol in gas! Spoke to the owner and was informed it cost him about .10 more per gallon not to have ethanol. Besides the problem with outboards I noticed that I was loosing at least 10% in mpg for my car. A gallon of ethanol free cost me $266.9 per gallon, a good .10 more then other stations but with the added gas mileage will buy all my gas from this station, boat and car. Station is privately owned and very friendly.
Posted the above last week, returned to fill up and was told many customers had brought their boat to fill up due to a posting on R&R. My gas milage jumped up in my car. Note: Station is open from 7a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F,closed Sat. and Sun.
